One should be aware of that most paintings offered on the Internet
 have been produced using acrylic paints rather than oil paints.
 The reason for this is simple, acrylic paints dry very fast,
 therefore an acrylic painting can be done quite quickly.

Mike use the traditional method of creating an oil painting, working
 with individual layers that have to dry before the next layer
 can be applied. Therefore the colours, consistency and
 durability are of a far higher quality then any
 painting done using acrylic paints.

After a painting is complete, it requires several days to dry,
 and when one see a Genuine Oil Painting one certainly
 will appreciate the difference in quality.

Some advice about Genuine Oil Paintings:

HANDLING: Any artwork should be handled as little as possible, therefore
ensure that your hands are clean and free of grease, lotions or moisturizers.

FRAMING: I recommend the use of a professional framer, to make sure
the painting is correctly stretched and mounted to avoid creases.

CLEANING: To protect from airborne dust, grime and pollution, ensure
 that the painting is regulary gently dusted using a soft brush or cloth.
